ST. JOHN'S WORT

Hypericum perforatum

An ancient herb hailing from Greece and Rome, St. John's Wort has strong historical and Biblical ties. More and more people have been discovering the multitude of uses this little flower has to offer. It's commonly seen as a roadside weed. It's best known, throughout history, for treating anxiety and depression, but Greene Thumb Gardening does not recommend use for this purpose.

Best Uses: Astringent, antibacterial agent, bruises, sunburn, blisters, minor cuts, bug bites.

Refer to Health Disclaimer for instructions on use limitations.

Fun Fact: On the Isle of Wight, legend had it that if at sundown you walked on a St. John's Wort plant, a magical fairy horse would carry you away and you wouldn't come back until dawn.
